Marcela is a Brazilian-Italian computation biologist and holds a PhD in Biophysics from the UFRJ – Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro). She is a TED Fellow since 2014 and currently is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow (MSCA) at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW) in Berlin.
